Administrative Requirements

  • All coaches, activity leaders, and other adult participants with JPYS must register with Massachusetts Youth Soccer. This includes completing SafeSport training, the CDC's concussion training, and a CORI background check.

Coaching Philosophy

Formal Coaching Training

  • US Soccer Coaching Portal

    • Grassroots coaching, 4v4/7v7/9v9/11v11 licenses (on-line, in-person, or blended), more advanced licensing

  • United Soccer Coaches

    • 4v4/7v7/9v9/11v11, plus specialty coaching courses including futsal, goalkeeping, and others

JPYS will reimburse volunteer coaches who take any of the grassroots coaching courses. Contact your Travel Director for more information.
