U10 Campeones Coordinator
Overview
The Campeones Coordinator is responsible for leading the coordination of all on- and off-field activities of the JPYS U10 Campeones program. The responsibilities of the role span the realm of communication, volunteer coordination, soccer technical training, and program administration. The position reports to the JPYS Board.
Campeones has two training/practice sessions per week (on weekdays) and games on Sundays.
Responsibilities
Coaches/Volunteers
Volunteer recruitment in partnership with JPYS Board members and other, previously designated lead volunteers for Campeones.
Providing technical training for coaches. This is done in partnership with the JPYS Technical Committee and other designated professional coaches.
Ongoing communication with volunteers throughout the season to ensure the program runs smoothly.
Technical
In partnership with the Director of Soccer Development, provide volunteers with practice materials approved by the JPYS Technical Committee and aligned with JPYS coaching principles.
Continue to develop coach training materials, specifically the U10 Training Manual, with support and approval from the JPYS Technical Committee.
Reinforcing coaching principles by demonstrating them on the field as well as providing clear communication that reinforces these principles.
Encourage coaches to acquire grassroots coaching licenses from U.S. Soccer. JPYS will pay for these courses for JPYS coaches.
Before the Fall 2023 season begins, complete the following U.S. Soccer online courses (Introduction, 4v4, 7v7).
With financial support from JP Youth Soccer, work towards acquiring a U.S. Soccer Coaching D License.
Communication
Promote and reinforce JPYS Code of Conduct.
Promote and reinforce JPYS technical training principles.
Promote and reinforce parent/caregiver responsibilities.
Provide weekly email correspondence around practice and game schedules, technical training plans.
Solicit feedback from coaches and the broader community about how the program can continue to improve and serve JPYS families better.
Administration
In partnership with the JPYS Registration Committee, oversee program registration using the Team Sideline registration platform used by JPYS.
Respond to questions by parents about the program.
Set and enforce registration caps and waitlist.
Assign players and coaches to teams/groups for training and weekend games.
In partnership with the JPYS Equipment Committee, ensure the proper equipment (balls, cones, pinnies, first aid kits, etc.) are available and in good working condition throughout the season.
In partnership with the JPYS Fields Committee, coordinate practice times and field use policies and norms.
